PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship

The PGA Financial Assistance Fund was established in 1986 and provides college scholarships to the children and grandchildren of PGA Members based on evidence of academic achievement during high school or college. All funding for the scholarships comes from contributions made by the PGA Members. Since its inception, the PGA of America has awarded a little over 4,000 scholarships totaling $9,197,500.00. For the 2023-24 school year, 185 students were awarded academic scholarships totaling $400,000.

How to Apply in 2025-2026

The PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship application for the 2025- 2026 school year will be available Monday, December 9, 2024. You can access the application by clicking this link.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements – To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a child or grandchild of a PGA member who is in good standing with the Association.
    • The PGA member may be living or deceased.
    • Children or grandchildren of Class “F” PGA members are not eligible.
    • The involvement and achievement of the PGA member is not part of the selection criteria.
  • Be a high school senior or college freshman, sophomore or junior planning to enroll full-time (12 hours or more) in a course of study leading to a traditional associate or baccalaureate degree.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 (un-weighted GPA based on a 4.0 scale) or higher in either high school or college.
  • Applicants are eligible to apply for one scholarship per school year. The number of scholarships a student can earn per school year is not based on the number of PGA members they are related to. Nor is it based on the involvement and achievement of the PGA member. It’s one application, one student, and one award.

Evaluation Criteria

  • High school students will be evaluated on the following
    ranking percentages:

    • 60% Cumulative GPA—20% Resume—20%
      Extracurricular Activities*****
  • Current college students will be evaluated on the following
    ranking percentages:

    • 60% Cumulative GPA—20% Resume—20%
      Extracurricular Activities*****

*****Activities include sports, student government, employment, arts, hobbies, and educational clubs.

Important Dates

  • December 9, 2024 – Scholarship application is open.
  • April 8, 2025 – Deadline for submitting Application and Supporting Documents
  • June 5, 2025 – Notification of Selection Results
  • June 20, 2025 – Scholarship Acceptance deadline
  • July 2025 – Funds Disbursed
