It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Mike Nelms, PGA on January 11, 2026. Mike served as Head Golf Professional at Creeks Bend Golf Club beginning in 1978 and became a defining presence in the club’s history.

For decades, Mike shaped the culture of Creeks Bend through his... leadership, teaching, and genuine care for members and families. He played a key role in the club’s tournaments and was especially passionate about junior golf, introducing countless young players to the game and helping foster a lifelong love for golf.

Mike will be remembered as more than a golf professional. He was a constant at Creeks Bend, a mentor, and a trusted friend whose legacy will live on throughout the club and community.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 19, 2026, at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel. Visitation begins at 11:00 AM, with the service to follow at 1:00 PM.

Five TNPGA Senior Professionals made the trip to the Sunshine State for the 2026 PGA Winter Championships.

Competition is underway, and Audie Johnson, Bill Breen, and Mark Houser are off to strong starts, all currently inside the top 15. Mike Vance and Buddy Harston also competed this ...week.

Winter has us wishing for the beach… luckily our members spent plenty of time there last season 🤙⛳🏖️
