ROLEX SENIOR PLAYER OF THE YEAR STANDINGS
The rankings didn’t see much movement despite three different chapter championships taking place this past week. Jared Melson (Tullahoma, TN) retains the top spot in the Rolex Senior Player of the Year standings as he’s put together five first place finishes this year.  Bill Breen (Nashville, TN) will look to carry over his momentum from carding a 66 to finish second in the Middle Tennessee Chapter Championship last week to defend his title from last year.  The Tennessee Senior PGA Professional Championship is a Level I event where the top-20 finishers will be awarded points ranging from 300 points to first and 12 points to twentieth.  With a tight race at the top here is a look at the current top-10 heading into this week’s championship.

  1. Jared Melson (Bear Trace at Tims Ford) – 1,231
  2. Walt Chapman (Fairways & Greens) – 966
  3. Audie Johnson (Ted Rhodes Golf Course) – 901
  4. Bill Breen (Harpeth Valley Golf Course) – 855
  5. Loren Personette (McCabe Golf Course) – 786
  6. Allen Fennell (TN Golf Trail at Warriors) – 781
  7. Scott Wilson (Green Meadow) – 567
  8. Mark Houser (LMA) – 505
  9. Buddy Harston (Vanderbilt Legends Club) – 493
  10. Christopher Woods (golf AMPLIFIED) – 454

NOTES ON THE LIST OF COMPETITORS:
Defending champion Bill Breen who won last year’s event at Nashville Golf and Athletic Club will look to go back-to-back. Breen two second place finishes this year along with finishing in the top-five in all five of his starts.  In 2018 this event was hosted at Council Fire Golf Club Walt Chapman bested the field by six shots to win.  Chapman will look to repeat that magic again just three years later.  Past Champions Mark Houser and Buddy Hartson are also in the field this year.

Action gets underway at 8:00 A.M. ET  with a single tee starting off No. 1 tee for both rounds.  Round one pairings were based on current Rolex Senior Player of the Year points and round two pairings will be based on score.  A trophy presentation by the clubhouse will follow the final round of play.  Attendance is free to the public.
