(Spring Hill, TN) – This year’s Tennessee PGA vs. Georgia PGA Assistants’ Cup Matches was held at Towhee Club in Spring Hill, TN. Each team was composed of the top ten Assistants’ Division Player of Year point leaders, plus two Captain choices.
The 29th installment of the Assistants’ Cup Matches, which started in 1995 to create a fun yet competitive event between the two Sections, proved to be a fun environment for the competitors as the deciding factor came down to the final putt.
In the morning four-ball matches Tennessee took two points while Georgia secured four. In the afternoon foursome matches Tennessee turned it on winning five of the six available points giving Tennessee the lead seven to five lead heading into singles matches.
Tennessee was able to hold on by splitting the matches six to six to bring home the cup by a total of 13 to 11. This brings the overall series total to a tie at 13 to 13 with 3 ties.
