Knoxville’s Lloyd Plunkett Named Newest PGA HOPE Platoon Leader

The Tennessee PGA is proud to welcome Lloyd Plunkett of Knoxville as our newest PGA HOPE Platoon Leader

A proud graduate of PGA HOPE Knoxville, led by PGA Professional Des Mahoney, Lloyd entered the program with a clear mission. He wanted to connect with fellow veterans who, like him, were navigating the challenges of stepping back into social environments. He saw PGA HOPE, which stands for Helping Our Patriots Everywhere, as an opportunity not only to play golf but also to find camaraderie, encouragement, and a shared sense of purpose.

From the very beginning, what stood out to Lloyd was not just the game of golf but the people he met. He was inspired by other veterans who had the courage to take the first step toward trying something new or returning to an activity they already enjoyed. He admired their willingness to use golf as a way to ease back into everyday life after military service.

Now, as aPlatoon Leader, Lloyd is eager to offer that same encouragement to others. He looks forward to spending time with veterans he can relate to and helping them experience the game in a way that is both fun and meaningful.

Lloyd’s passion for golf continues to grow, and he has set ambitious goals for himself. He hopes to keep improving his game and even dreams of becoming a Class A PGA Professional in the future.

We are honored to have Lloyd as part of the Tennessee PGA HOPE Platoon, and we look forward to the positive impact he will make on veterans across the state.
