(Knoxville, TN) – After 36-holes on the old style Donald Ross course at Holston Hills Country Club we have a champion.  Over the two rounds 39 Assistants from across the section teed it up for their chance to claim one of three spots in the 2023 National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship.

CJ Jones (Gallatin, TN) put together a wire-to-wire performance posting rounds of 61-67 to finish 16-under par overall to win the National Car Rental Tennessee Assistant PGA Championship by three-shots.  Jones played nearly a perfect 36-holes posting 15 bridies, an eagle, and just a single bogey.

Congratulations to our National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship qualifiers Tre Mullins (Knoxville, TN), Mike Vance (Jackson, TN), and Alex Holland (Knoxville, TN).  They’ll tee it up November 16-19, 2023 in Port St. Lucie, Florida at the PGA Golf Club.  Alternates for the event will be Joey Batuello, Trey Romig, and Michael McGill.  Due to changes to qualifier eligibility only A-8 and B-8 classifications were eligible to qualify for the National Assistant Professional Championship. B-8s must have successfully completed and passed Level 1 and matriculated into Level 2 of the PGA PGM program to be eligible. This change was implemented by the National PGA Tournament Committee.

Special shoutout to Jordan Harre (Nolensville, TN) who recorded a hole-in-one on the 150 yard par 3, 8th.  Harre becomes the first player in 2 years a part of the hole-in-one club to record a hole-in-one in an eligible round.

The National Car Rental Tennessee PGA Championship is a level one Rolex Assistant Player of the Year points event.

A special thank you to all of the staff at Holston Hills Country Club for their tremendous hospitality.
