Franklin, Tenn. (August 27, 2026) — Johan Kok, PGA, from The Troubadour Golf and Field Club, fired a final round 70 to capture the 58th Tennessee PGA Professional Championship at Colonial Country Club. Finishing with a 54-hole total of 7-under-par, Kok bested a field of the state’s elite PGA Professionals to earn the title.
With the victory, Kok qualifies with three Tennessee PGA Professionals who have earned qualifying spots into the 2027 PGA Professional Championship, where they will compete on a national stage for a spot in the PGA Championship field.
A Hard Fought Victory in Memphis
Kok set the stage on Day 1 by firing a 70, rolling in seven birdies to put himself in a tie for third place going into the second round. He kept the momentum going in Round 2, delivering a 3-under-par performance that surged him to the top of the leaderboard with a solo lead at 5-under-par.
Entering Wednesday’s final round holding the lead, Kok relied on key conversions on Colonial Country Club’s demanding layout. The back nine served as the pivotal stretch of Day 3, with PGA Professionals Lee Whitehead and Ryan Botts keeping constant pressure on Kok’s narrow lead. Kok countered with steady play, ultimately securing separation on the 16th hole with an eagle to solidify his position at the top of the leaderboard heading into the final holes.
With the victory, Kok claimed his fifth overall Tennessee PGA Professional Championship title, adding to his run of four consecutive victories in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
“This course proved to be a real test for the entire field, but it’s a great venue for such a prestigious event and was in incredible condition”, Kok noted. “We played the Challenge Cup here a few years back, so I knew how demanding it could be”.

Leaderboard & National Championship Qualifiers
Lee Whitehead, PGA, of Williams Creek Golf Course, and Ryan Botts, PGA, of Five Oaks Golf & Country Club, tied for second place after posting final-round scores of 68 and 69, respectively, for matching three day totals of 4-under-par.
Securing the final qualifying spot, Josh Bevell, PGA, of Profectus Golf, outlasted Henrik Simonsen, PGA, of The Honors Course, in a playoff after both finished tied at 1-under-par.
The top four finishers in this week’s section championship officially punched their tickets to the 2027 PGA Professional Championship, which will be hosted at Streamsong Golf Resort in Bowling Green, Florida April 25-28, 2027:
