(Memphis, TN) – After 36-holes on the old style Donald Ross course at Memphis Country Club we have a champion.  Over the two rounds 37 Assistants from across the section teed it up for their chance to claim one of two spots in the 2022 National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship.  The course proved to be difficult as players had difficulty posting scores under par.

Chase Harris (Memphis, TN) a former assistant professional at Memphis Country Club fired a 3-under (67) to win the National Car Rental Tennessee Assistant PGA Championship by three-shots. “It feels good to get my first professional win,” said Harris. “Makes it even more special that it came at a course that means so much to me.”  Harris would be the only competitor to finish the 36-holes under par at 1-under overall.

Lee Whitehead (Louisville, TN) and Jordan Harre (Nolensville, TN) tied for second after finishing 2-over par overall.  Whitehead started his second round hot, making the turn at 4-under par. He played the back-nine 2-over to slide back to 2-under for his final round.  Harre carded back to back rounds of 71 (+1).  Harre carded 7 birdies through his 36-holes.

Congratulations to our qualifiers for the 46th National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship Chase Harris and Jordan Harre. They’ll tee it up November 17-20, 2022 in Port St. Lucie, Florida at the PGA Golf Club Wanamaker Course.  Alternates for the event will be Chris Baker, Ryan Young, and Cody King.
