Braedon Wear Wins the 2019 Tennessee Section Boys Junior PGA Championship

Franklin, TN – Braedon Wear of Maryville, TN won the 2019 Tennessee Boys Junior PGA Championship on Tuesday, June 4th at River Bend Country Club in Shelbyville, TN

Braedon will have the opportunity to join 144 of the nation’s top male junior golfers in the PGA of America’s premium junior event, the 44th Boys Junior PGA Championship, hosted at Keney Park Golf Course in Hartford, Connecticut. Keney Park Golf Course is home to the Hartford Women’s Open and was recently restored in 2014. The 44th Boys Junior PGA Championship will be held from July 30-August 2, 2019.

Braedon, 18, shot a total of 132 (66, 66) for the Championship and edged out Jaron Leasure.

Each of the 41 PGA of America Sections has the opportunity to send 2 players to Connecticut. Therefore, along with Braedon, Jaron Leasure of Nashville, TN will also be competing at the Keney Park Golf Course. Jaron earned his spot through his second-place finish at the Championship.

The Boys Junior PGA Championship is where some of the best in the world get their start. Many of today’s PGA Tour professionals made their debut at the Championship. Notable past participants Include: Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Stewart Cink and Phil Mickelson.
