Fairfield Glade’s stunning Stonehenge Golf Club played host to the 17th annual Tennessee Senior State Open from June 15–16, 2026. The prestigious 36-hole tournament drew a competitive field of 126 of the state’s elite senior golfers, featuring 102 competitors in the Championship Division and 24 battling it out in the Super Senior Division.
Now firmly established as a highlight of the state’s senior golf calendar, the event routinely attracts a powerhouse mix of top-tier amateurs and PGA Professionals. The impressive lineup this year featured a blend of former champions, Tennessee Golf Hall of Fame inductees, and local Crossville talent. Representing the home crowd were nine local players: Greg Wyatt, PGA, Kelvin Burgin, PGA, Dale Wheeler (a), Jesse Anderson (a), John Bradshaw (a), Randy Gray (a), Kip Henley (a), Jack Sixkiller, PGA ,and Eddie Wyatt (a).
Harpeth Valley Golf Center’s own Bill Breen, PGA, is a five-time champion. The Nashville PGA Professional captured his fifth Tennessee Senior State Open title after an incredible second-round comeback. Breen, who previously won the championship in 2013, 2020, 2022, and as a co-champion in 2016 alongside Gibby Gilbert III, PGA, opened the tournament with an even-par round that left him tied for 11th place after Day 1. He flipped the script on Day 2, firing a spectacular 5-under 67 to clear the field by a single stroke. The performance allowed Breen to edge out co-runner-up PGA Professionals Jared Melson and defending champion Cliff Kresge for the historic win.
“I am just incredibly grateful to have been given the chance to come out and play in such a prestigious event,” said Breen. “I really want to thank the staff at Fairfield Glade and Stonehenge Golf Club, as well as the volunteers and the entire community, for their hard work in making this such an incredible event over the years”.
In the Super Senior Division, Nashville’s Lenny Sisselman (a) captured the title. Sisselman set the pace early, commanding the field on Day 1 with an excellent 2-under-par round. Day 2 proved to be a much tougher test, with Sisselman admitting that he struggled to find his rhythm out on the course. However, he fought through to card a second-round 78, finishing the tournament at 4-over 148. That determination was just enough to secure a thrilling one-stroke victory over Kingsport’s Tony Green (a).
“I didn’t play as well as I wanted to out there today, but fortunately it was just enough to get the job done”, said Sisselman. “This is a really special one for me. I’ve been coming out and playing in this tournament for the last 13 years—essentially ever since I was first able to—so to win it is incredibly rewarding”.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our Title sponsor, Fairfield Glade, whose ongoing generosity brings this championship to life. We also want to extend our deepest appreciation to the incredible staff at Stonehenge Golf Club and the wonderful volunteers from the Fairfield Glade community. Thanks to their warm hospitality, seamless organization, and tireless efforts, the event was an unforgettable experience for every player and guest.
