The Goat Turf Players Championship is an individual 36-hole stroke play championship with four divisions: Professional, Senior Professional, Amateur, and Senior Amateur. The Championship was hosted this year on June 29-30, 2026 at Oak Ridge Country Club in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
The Players Championship dates back to 2012 and has seen two repeat winners, Johan Kok, PGA ( 2015, 2021) and Loren Personett, PGA (2012, 2017), as well as several repeat Senior Division winners Bill Breen, PGA (2020, 2022), Buzz Fly (a) (2013, 2017), Audie Johnson, PGA (2014, 2016, 2023) and Jared Melson, PGA (2018, 2021).
Congratulations to Eric Ansett for capturing the Goat Turf Players Championship. He came out in the opening round putting together a flawless display of golf to shoot an incredible 7-under par. This stellar performance immediately put him to the top of the leaderboard, tied with Jacob Parton (a) with a tight leaderboard after Day 1. Ansett refused to take his foot off the gas. However, the second day brought plenty of anticipation as the leaderboard began to crowd with fierce competitors making aggressive charges for the top spot. Ansett carded a spectacular 8-under par for his second round, fueled by 8 birdies. He secured a well deserved victory to claim the title with a staggering 15-under par over two days.
As the Director of Instruction at Fox Den Country Club, PGA Professional Jake Reeves claimed the Senior Division Goat Turf Players Championship. From the opening tee shot, the leaderboard was packed with talent, leaving no room for error. Reeves opened the tournament with a stellar 6-under par in the first round, putting himself tied for second place heading into the final day. Reeves kicked things into high gear for Day 2, with 9 birdies during the final round to surge up the leaderboard. Reeves had posted a spectacular 15-under par total over the course of the two days. However, he found himself tied at the top with Jeff Lyons, PGA, sending the championship into a playoff. After two playoff holes, Reeves managed to seal the deal, claiming the title.
The Tennessee PGA Staff would like to extend its deepest appreciation to Jake Bennett, PGA and his staff for being an incredible host facility for this Championship.
