Allie Knight, a distinguished PGA Professional from Fairways and Greens Golf Center in Knoxville, TN, is set to represent Team USA at the Women’s PGA Cup, taking place from October 3-5, 2024, at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon. This prestigious international tournament will showcase the top female PGA Professionals from around the globe, featuring teams from the USA, Australia, Canada, Great Britain & Ireland, South Africa, and Sweden.

Teams qualify through two main pathways: the WPGA Series points list or the Women’s PGA Professional Championship points list. Knight’s selection for the U.S. Team comes as a result of her outstanding performance across various qualifying events.

The Women’s PGA Cup, which debuted at Barton Creek Resort in Austin, Texas, in October 2019, is the first global competition dedicated to female PGA Teaching, Coaching, and Club Professionals. The 2024 event will be held at the Meadows Course at Sunriver Resort, a venue known for its rich history in hosting major golf championships.

Knight will lead Team USA in this landmark event, as they compete against other elite female PGA Professionals in a 54-hole stroke play format. The tournament promises to be a showcase of the talent and dedication of women in golf, with Knight playing a pivotal role for the American team.

Allie Knight of Fairways and Greens Golf Center in Knoxville, TN, will represent the U.S. Team. Selection for this team was based on a two-year point system that included results from the 2023-24 Women’s Stroke Play Championship (Championship Division), the 2023-24 LPGA Professionals Championship, and the final money lists from the 2022-23 PGA Tournament Series. Points were also awarded to any member who made the cut at the 2023-24 PGA Professional Championships, with additional points coming from a weighted PGA Section points system.

Sunriver Resort, renowned for its stunning natural beauty, has previously hosted four PGA of America member championships, including the 50th PGA Professional Championship in 2017. The Meadows course, designed by John Fought, features seven holes along the Sun River and pays homage to the classic American golf courses of the 1920s and ‘30s. It has also hosted numerous USGA and NCAA championships, including the NCAA Men’s Division 1 Championship.
