(Jackson, TN) – The field of 90 golfers saw close to perfect weather conditions the past two days at the Goat Turf Players Championship at Jackson Country Club. The first round proved to be tough as it was a tightly contested contest in both our overall and senior overall divisions going into the final round. After a strong first round performance, Chase Harris, PGA was able to put together another round under par to close out the win at Jackson Country Club.
Harris entered the final round as the man everyone was chasing at the top of the leaderboard. Harris posted a first round 64 (-7) to hold the outright lead over amateur Jeff Reuter by one shot going into the final round. Down the stretch things became interesting as Reuter birdied the par 3, 13 to move into a tie for first. Harris would then go on to birdie two of his last four holes to claim the Goat Turf Players Championship.
Audie Johnson, PGA of Mt. Juliet, TN was able to capture the overall Senior division title after winning a one hole playoff over the low amateur Danny Green.
We’d like to give a special thank you to our title sponsor, Goat Turf for their support of this year’s event. We’d also like to recognize Anderson Ord and Winston Collection. Without their support this event wouldn’t be possible. In addition, we’d like to thank the entire staff at Jackson Country Club for being tremendous hosts and keeping the course in pristine condition throughout tournament play.
