(Chapel Hill, TN) – The final round of the 2023 Tennessee Junior PGA Championship at Henry Horton Golf Course is complete. Round two proved to be great scoring conditions as many players in both girls and boys divisions were able to post rounds under par.
In the girls division Caroline Pardue (Murfreesboro, TN) came into the final round holding a 1-shot lead over the field. In her second round Pardue recorded four birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey to card an even 72 to remain at 3-under par overall to finish in a tie for second. Brylee Crouse (Kingston, TN) forced with Pardue after posting rounds of 70 and 71 to also come in at 3-under par overall. With a trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas to compete in the 47th Junior PGA Championship at Hot Spring Country Club on the line, Crouse birdied the first playoff hole to advance. Karlie Campbell (Ethridge, TN) would bring home the overall girls division championship posting rounds of 70 and 69 to win by two-shots at 5-under par overall. In the girls 13-15 division Carlee Rogers (Hixson, TN) claimed the top spot at 6-over overall, while Meredith Eller (Mt. Juliet, TN) and Poppy Pewitt (Dickson, TN) tied for second at 7-over overall.
The boys division was stacked at the top of the leaderboard with multiple players at 5-under par overall heading into their final round. Thad Whitfield (Signal Mountain, TN) recorded the lowest round of the day tallying seven birdies to finish at the top of the leaderboard at 10-under overall to claim the championship and a spot in the 47th Junior PGA Championship at Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas in August. Joining him will be Ethan Whitaker (Powell, TN) who finished second at 9-under overall. Will Sanders (Johnson City, TN) won the boys 13-15 age division at 5-under overall while Carter Graham (Brentwood, TN) finished second at 1-under par.
