The Tennessee PGA Professional Championship is set for August 26-28 at Chickasaw Country Club. The Championship is known as the premier event for Tennessee Club Professionals. This tournament is a 54-hole stroke play event. Tennessee has four (4) qualifying spots for the PGA Professional Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL. on April 27-30, 2025.
Defending champion Casey Flenniken aims for a remarkable third consecutive victory at the Tennessee PGA Professional Championship this year. Flenniken, who views a “three-peat” as a significant achievement, has set his sights on a larger career goal: qualifying for the National PGA Professional Championship. In the 2024 PGA Professional Championship held in Frisco, TX, Flenniken finished tied for 21st place. Despite a less intensive preparation routine this year due to the high volume of play at Tansi Golf Course—having hosted 65,000 rounds—he has been focusing on targeted 9-hole practice sessions. His latest competition was the Yamaha Harold Eller Pro-Am, held on July 29-30 at Old Hickory Country Club. Flenniken is in good health after being hurt at the Knoxville Open and is enthusiastic about his prospects for the upcoming Tennessee PGA Professional Championship.
Past champion Johan Kok will look to make history at this year’s Championship. Kok has won four Tennessee PGA Professional Championships (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020) and will look to tie the record of Joe Campbell and Gibby Gilbert Jr. as the third player to win the tournament five times. Kok finished runner-up in the recent Goat Turf Players Championship. Past Champions Oliver Peacock, Audie Johnson and Scott Moran are also in this year’s field.
Action gets underway at 8:30 A.M. CT on all three tournament days with a single tee starting off No. 1 tee. After rounds one and two the field will be repaired based on scores with leaders teeing off last. A trophy presentation by the clubhouse will follow the final round of play.
