4 Senior Professionals will advance on to the 2024 Senior PGA Professional Championship presented by Cadillac in Sunriver, Oregon on September 24-29, 2024. Congratulations to our Senior Professionals advancing to the National level: Christopher Woods, Bobby Cochran, Jared Melson, and Greg Wyatt.
After round 1 of the Senior PGA Professional Championship, Christopher Woods held the lead with a score of -5, with Bobby Cochran and Jared Melson closely trailing at -4. Woods maintained his lead through the first 6 holes but was later tied by Melson following a bogey on hole 12. Melson eventually claimed the top spot with a one-stroke lead through hole 15, securing his victory.
Two Assistant Professionals will advance on to the 2024 National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship in Port St. Lucie, Florida on November 14-17, 2024. Congratulations to our Assistant professionals advancing to the National level: Brett Wolfe and Chris Baker.
In the Assistant PGA Professional Championship, Ethan Burger took the lead after round 1 with a score of -3, followed closely by Logan Stewart and Brad Hawkins at -2. As the second round progressed, Brad Hawkins surged up the leaderboard, making three birdies and leading the field on the back 9 to solidify his position.
About the 2024 National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship:
At the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida, 132 PGA Assistant Professionals gather for a challenging four-day, 72-hole stroke play tournament. This competitive event welcomes PGA of America Assistant Professionals (A-8 membership classification) and registered Assistant Professional Associates (B-8 classification), all earning spots through their local PGA Sections. After the initial two rounds, the field will be narrowed to the top 70 players and ties. The champion, upon meeting eligibility requirements, earns a spot in the 2025 PGA Professional Championship. Furthermore, the top four finishers and those tied will gain exemptions to participate in the 2025 National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship.

Highlighting 264 top PGA Professionals aged 50 and above, the Senior PGA Professional Championship stands as the premier event for Senior PGA Professionals. This Championship adopts a 72-hole stroke play format across two courses. Participants in the top 35 earn exemptions for the 2025 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, with the top eight additionally securing exemptions for the 2025 Senior PGA Professional Championship. The champion will also achieve permanent recognition with their name engraved on the Leo Fraser Trophy.
