HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – The E-Z-GO Pro-Pro Championship brought a stacked field to Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club. Bluegrass was in immaculate condition, an incredible host for this championship. Thirty teams of Professionals would play two rounds in a four-ball format to determine the 2020 E-Z-GO Pro-Pro Champions.

The first round began like many others this season, with a threat of rain. The team of Glenn Hudson, PGA and Jake Reeves, PGA came out firing on all cylinders. They made 4 birdies on the front nine and closed with an eagle on the 9th, firing a 30 (-6). The back nine was just as exciting, 4 birdies and an eagle to shoot 30 (-6), totaling 60 (-12). Hudson and Reeves held the first round lead by 1 shot. With 12 birdies and a bogey Ryan Botts and Chris Weilandt carded a 61 (-11) to keep the Hudson/Reeves duo within reach. Oliver Peacock, PGA and Joel Stark, PGA shot a 63 (-9) to remain 3 back of the leaders. These players created a stacked leaderboard heading into the second round.

At the beginning of the second round players were greeted with the sun peeking behind an overcast sky.  A slight breeze created ideal scoring conditions for the early morning tee times.  The first round leaders slowed down on day two by only shooting 34 (-2) on the front side. Botts and Weilandt surged ahead by firing a 31 (-5) on the same side. As the final groups made the turn, rain was threatening, but that did not slow down the birdie barrage by the players. Braxton Hunter, PGA and Jared Melson, PGA made a charge, firing 62 (-10). But that would prove to be not enough, Hunter/Melson finished in solo second. Even with the light rain following the last few groups Botts and Weilandt stayed hot firing a 63 (-9), 124 (-20) total. Botts and Weilandt finished their E-Z-GO Pro-Pro Championship victory with a two shot advantage over Hunter and Melson.

The Tennessee PGA would like to extend a thank you to Rob DellaMorte, PGA and his staff for their hospitality. We would also like to thank E-Z-GO and Jim Newton, PGA for being the title sponsor of this event and Gentleman Jack and Eric Wiemann, AM&E/Mobile Pro Shop and Fran Boone, and Pukka and Brad Beck for being supporting sponsors.
