Botts and Melson win Yamaha Players Championship

The Tennessee Grasslands held the last major of the 2018 season, The Yamaha Players Championship.  Since its inception the Players has been held at the recently renamed, Foxland Links Course. The course is beautifully challenging, testing all facets of the player's game. At 7,171 yards from the tips Foxland Links does not lack length, but the course also challenges the players around the greens with undulated surfaces and many bunkers.

Tootsies Classic at McCabe Golf Course Won by Melson and Cheney (a)

A common theme this season seemed to be; the hotter the temperatures the lower the scores. That was the case this week at The Tootsies Classic. McCabe Golf Course brought its very best to the players, with multiple drivable par 4’s. McCabe’s length was not a challenge, but difficult hole locations and bent grass greens awarded players with a great short game.

Chapman Closes Out Another Victory at the Tennessee Senior PGA Professional

Council Fire Golf Club was once the home to Native American tribe meetings, the land now is the meeting place for the 2018 Tennessee Senior PGA Professional Championship.  Council Fire presented a challenge from the opening tee shot to final putt.

Joe Hallett Spotlight - National Horton Smith Award

Joe was introduced to the game by his father but didn’t have an interest until his family moved to the 4th hole of the Biltmore Golf Course in Miami, Florida.  A common scene at Biltmore was to see Joe at night sneaking around in the dark to hit a few shots after the staff had left.  Joe enjoyed the game because he could spend time with others but it was also something he could do alone.  He says that golf has given him time with his family and created lifelong friendships.
